Who'd want to leave a Sooner team doing this? By the sound of it, nobody who doesn't have to

Here’s what happened.

Saturday afternoon in Las Vegas, in a College Basketball Crown semifinal against Baylor, with an additional $50,000 in NIL earnings on the line following the $50,000 Oklahoma earned knocking off Colorado on Wednesday, coach Porter Moser’s Sooners topped Baylor 82-69, advancing to Sunday’s championship against West Virginia.

Win that one and the players collect another $200,000 in NIL earnings.

Here’s why what happened, and what was said about it, matters.

Point guard Xzayvier Brown led OU with 21 points, six rebounds and six assists without a turnover, and here’s what he had to say afterward.

“This team has been through a lot,” he said. “We’ve had good parts of the season, bad parts, but honestly I think all of it has brought us closer together. Like, I honestly feel like this is a true brotherhood here and the game showed that today.”

A true brotherhood?

Well, Brown, a senior to be, couldn’t possibly be looking toward the transfer portal, could he, after finding “true brotherhood” in Norman?
