Here’s irony for you.

It took not having a game to underline just how immense the rest of Oklahoma’s football season now appears to be.

Because it’s not all about recruiting, the transfer portal and talent level, and it’s not all about schemes, development and doing things “the right way.”

It’s about all of that and more, the “and more” an impossible-to-quantify intangible without which, though those other things may put you in the ring, you’ll never walk out of it holding the belt.
