The home run derby in the books, the All-Star Game awaits at Dodger Stadium. I’m bound to watch some of it. A batter or two at least. Maybe an inning or two, who knows? Had their never been interleague play, and if the winner still got home field for the World Series, and if umpires did not work for Major League Baseball but for the leagues, separately, the way they used to, you’d have two reasons to watch we no longer have today.
