Running away for a few days
The author and his person are getting in their car and driving west, seeking adventure before returning to write about who knows what next
Were I not going on a road trip with the truly great Gwenda — “Truly Great Gwenda,” yeah, let’s go with that — I’d be looking forward to writing about Sooner baseball, the amazing television that is the Jan. 6 Committee, maybe some thoughts on the U.S. Open against the backdrop of the LIV Tour and who knows what else?
Yet, for the next week, as mentioned, I really am heading west with the Truly Great Gwenda, who really is truly great.
If you’d like, in the meantime, to let me know how you’ve enjoyed (or not, if you haven’t) Oklahoma Columnist, by all means feel free.
It’s a strange existence, doing this. I appreciate every reader, every comment, every alert that somebody new has shared their email address with me for the purpose of receiving my writing.
It’s thrilling.
On the off chance you haven’t subscribed, but read me nonetheless, using links I provide on Facebook and Twitter, maybe tell me about that. I am never not curious where my audience comes from, and if you can’t reach me through the site because you’re not a subscriber, send me a note via Facebook Messenger, Twitter or sprtswrtr10@yahoo.com.
When I began this thing I thought there might be a certain charm to the same person, in the same place, writing about sports, politics, culture, the world.
Now, sometimes, I wonder if perhaps there should be two different destinations, one for the sports and another for the rest. If you have any thoughts about that, let me know that, too.
Additionally, I invite any and all to suggest topics, interact and engage. It’s always more fun when it’s interactive.
With that, I’ll be up and running again in just a little while. Thanks so much for your patience and patronage.
See you soon,
Clay
