Twin brothers Kyson and Malachi Witherspoon both played a role in Oklahoma’s 11-4 victory over Kansas State Saturday afternoon at L. Dale Mitchell Park. (OU Baseball photo)

Baseball’s always more fun when strange things happen and for that alone, Oklahoma’s Saturday evening triumph over Kansas State in front of an estimated 4,011 mostly friendly fans inside L. Dale Mitchell Park was a prime treat.

Not only did the Sooners claim an 11-4 victory, their second straight over the Wildcats with today’s 2 p.m. series ender still to come, but OU’s bottom half of the eighth was straight bananas.

How bananas?

How about back-to-back bunt singles from from Jaxon Willits and Jason Walk, the last of them plating Scott Mulder, who’d led off the frame with a double AND a check-swing double from Easton Carmichael that plated Willits and Walk AND back-to-back infield singles from Anthony Mackenzie and Isaiah Lane, the first of them bringing home Carmichael.

See?

Bananas.
