Brent Venables’ first order of business between this season and next, one he’s likely embracing as soon as this morning, mere hours after dying in Death Valley 37-17 to LSU, is revitalizing the Sooner offense.
To that end, it’s fine if Jackson Arnold returns, and even Michael Hawkins, too, just as long as they understand they’ll have to earn their playing time, competing not just amongst each other, but with whoever’s bound to come in through the transfer portal, because the Sooners are absolutely ripe for a prized QB to show up before the next semester arrives, shine through the spring and save the day, under an offensive coordinator still to be named, come the fall.
